Behavioral Targeting

As you can see when I chose to go to a random website ads pop up on the sidebar for things that I may have searched for in the past or for products that I could use. The particular beats ad that is shown here is something very familiar to me. The person featured in the ad is someone that I watch on YouTube. This particular ad does not make me want to buy the product because I already have a pair of those headphones. This ad does make me want to watch some of her videos on YouTube though.

When I reloaded the page these two ads popped up. The first one is for Chegg. I am also very familiar with this company/product. I know a lot of people that use Chegg. I think this has shown up because I am a student and that is known through the things that I frequent while on my laptop. The second ad is for Tasty, a company that shows easy recipes that people can try. This one definitely attracted me more than the other two because I can spend hours watching their videos on Facebook.  I enjoy cooking so this really drew me in. I think that Behavioral Targeting is really affective because what better way to ensure that the consumers seeing this will actually buy your product, than advertising to someone that already likes or buys your product.
